Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O most pure heart of Mary, full of goodness, show your love towards us. Let the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend on all people. We love you im- mensely. Impress on our hearts true love so that we may long for you. O Mary, gentle and humble of heart, remember us when we sin. You know that all people sin. Grant that through your most pure and motherly heart, we may be healed from every spiritual sickness. Grant that we may always experience the goodness of your motherly heart, and that through the flame of your heart we may be converted. Amen.
Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
I, N., a faithless sinner-- renew and ratify today in thy hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.
In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day, for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen.
Consecration to Mary
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thine Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that we are. To thee we give our bodies, our hearts and our souls; to thee we give our homes, our families, our country. We desire that all that is in us and around us may belong to thee, and may share in the benefits of thy motherly benediction. And that this act of consecration may be truly efficacious and lasting, we renew this day at thy feet the promises of our Baptism and our first Holy Communion. We pledge ourselves to profess courageously and at all times the truths of our holy Faith, and to live as befits Catholics who are duly submissive to all the directions of the Pope and the Bishops in communion with him. We pledge ourselves to keep the commandments of God and His Church, in particular to keep holy the Lord's Day. We likewise pledge ourselves to make the consoling practices of the Christian religion, and above all, Holy Communion, an integral part of our lives, in so far as we shall be able so to do. Finally, we promise thee, O glorious Mother of God and loving Mother of men, to devote ourselves whole-heartedly to the service of thy blessed cult, in order to hasten and assure, through the sovereignty of thine Immaculate Heart, the coming of the kingdom of the Sacred Heart of thine adorable Son, in our own hearts and in those of all men, in our country and in all the world, as in heaven, so on earth. Amen.
FATIMA PRAYER
Most Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I adore thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.
Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
In Honor of the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Most holy and afflicted Virgin, Queen of Martyrs, you stood beneath the cross, witnessing the agony of your dying Son. Look with a mother's tenderness and pity on me, who kneel before you. I venerate your sorrows and I place my requests with filial confidence in the sanctuary of your wounded heart.
Present them, I beseech you, on my behalf to Jesus Christ, through the merits of His own most sacred passion and death, together with your sufferings at the foot of the cross. Through the united efficacy of both, obtain the granting of my petition. To whom shall I have recourse in my wants and miseries if not to you, Mother of Mercy? You have drunk so deeply of the chalice of your Son, you can compassionate our sorrows.
Holy Mother, your soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow at the sight of the passion of your divine Son. Intercede for me and obtain for me from our Lord {mention your petition}, it it be for His honor and glory, and for my good. Amen.

Marian Prayer for the Easter Season
Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia,
For he whom you were worthy to bear, alleluia,
Has risen, as he foretold, alleluia;
Pary for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
For the Lord has indeed risen, alleluia.
God our Father, you give joy to the world by the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the prayers of his mother, the Virgin Mary, bring us to the happiness of eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Mary's Consent
You have heard it said, O Virgin, that you will conceive and bear a son; you have heard that it will not be by man but by the Holy Spirit. The angel awaits an answer; it is time for him to return to God who sent him. We too are waiting, O Lady, for your word of compassion; the sentence of condemnation weights heavily upon us.
The price of salvation is offered to you. We shall be set free at once if you consent. In the eternal Word of God we all came to be, and behold, we die. In your brief response we are to be remade in order to be recalled to life . . . .
Answer quickly, O Virgin. Reply in haste to the angel, or rather through the angel to the Lord. Answer with a word, receive the Word of God. Speak your own word, conceive the divine Word. Breathe a passing word, embrace the eternal Word.
Why do you delay, why are you afraid? Believe, give praise and receive. Let humility be bold, let modesty be confident. This is no time for virginal simplicity to forget prudence. In this matter alone, O prudent Virgin, do not fear to be presumptuous. Though modest silence is pleasing, dutiful speech is now more necessary. Open your heart to faith, O blessed Virgin, your lips to praise, your womb to the Creator. See, the desired of all nations is at your door, knocking to enter. If he should pass by because of your delay, in sorrow you would begin to seek him afresh, the One whom your soul loves. Arise, hasten, open. Arise in faith, hasten in devotion, open in praise and thanksgiving. "Behold the handmaid of the Lord," she says, "be it done to me according to your word."
From a homily in Praise of the Virgin Mother by Saint Bernard, Abbot
Memorare
Remember,
most loving Virgin Mary,
never was it heard
that anyone who turned to you for help was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I run to you for protection for you are my mother.
OR
Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of they Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen.
O Mother of Perpetual Help
O Mother of Perpetual Help
To thee we come imploring help.
Behold us here, from far and near,
To ask of thee our help to be;
Behold us here, from far and near,
To ask of thee our help to be.
Perpetual help we beg of thee;
Our souls from sin and sorrow free;
Direct our wandering feet aright,
And be thyself out own true light;
Direct our wandering feet aright,
And be thyself out own true light.
And when this life is o'er for me,
This last request I ask of thee:
Obtain for me in heaven this grace,
To see my God there face to face;
Obtain for me in heaven this grace,
To see my God there face to face.
O my most sweet Mother, how shall I die, poor sinner that I am?
O my most sweet Mother, how shall I die, poor sinner that I am? Even now the thought of that important moment when I must expire, and appear before the judgment-seat of God, and the remembrance that I have myself so often written my condemnation by consenting to sin, makes me tremble. I am confounded, and fear much for my eternal salvation. O Mary, in the blood of Jesus, and in thy intercession, is all my hope. Thou art the Queen of heaven, the mistress of the universe; in short, thou art the Mother of God. Thou art great, but thy greatness does not prevent, nay, even it inclines thee to greater compassion towards us in our miseries. Worldly friends when raised to dignity disdain to notice their former friends who may have fallen into distress. Thy noble and loving heart does not act thus, for the greater the miseries it beholds the greater are its efforts to relieve. Thou, when called upon, dost immediately assist; nay, more, thou dost anticipate our prayers by thy favors; thou consolest us in our afflictions; thou dissipatest the storms by which we are tossed about; thou overcomest all enemies; thou, in fine, never losest an occasion to promote our welfare. May that divine hand which has united in thee such majesty and such tenderness, such greatness and so much love, be forever blessed! I thank my Lord for it, and congratulate myself in having so great an advantage; for truly in thy felicity do I place my own, and I consider thy lot as mine. O comfortress of the afflicted, console a poor creature who recommends himself to thee. The remorse of a conscience overburdened with sins fills me with affliction. I am in doubt as to whether I have sufficiently grieved for them. I see that all my actions are sullied and defective; hell awaits my death in order to accuse me; the outraged justice of God demands satisfaction. My Mother, what will become of me? If thou dost not help me, I am lost. What sayest thou, wilt thou assist me? O compassionate Virgin, console me; obtain for me true sorrow for my sins; obtain for me strength to amend, and to be faithful to God during the rest of my life. And finally, when I am in the last agonies of death, O Mary, my hope, abandon me not; then, more than ever, help and encourage me, that I may not despair at the sight of my sins, which the evil one will then place before me. My Lady, forgive my temerity; come thyself to comfort me with thy presence in that last struggle. This favor thou hast granted to many, grant it also to me. If my boldness is great, thy goodness is greater; for it goes in search of the most miserable to console them. On this I rely. For thy eternal glory, let it be said that thou hast snatched a wretched creature from hell, to which he was already condemned, and that thou hast led him to thy kingdom. Oh, yes, sweet Mother, I hope to have the consolation of remaining always at thy feet in heaven, thanking and blessing and loving thee eternally. O Mary, I shall expect thee at my last hour; deprive me not of this consolation. Fiat, fiat. Amen, amen.
From Hail Holy Queen! by St. Alphonsus Liguori
O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of God and My Mother
O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of God and my Mother, from your sublime heights turn your eyes of pity on my. Filled with confidence in your goodness and knowing full well your power, I beg you to extend to me your assistance in the journey of life, which is so full of dangers for my soul. In order that I may never be a slave of the devil through sin, but may ever live with my heart humble and pure, I entrust myself wholly to you. I consecrate my heart to you forever, my only desire being to love your divine Son, Jesus. Mary, none of your devout servants has ever perished; may I, too, be saved. Amen.
Saint Ephraem of Edessa
Our Lady of Guadalupe
God of power and mercy, you blessed the Americas at Tepeyac with the presence of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. May her prayers help all men and women to accept each other as brothers and sisters. Through your justice present in our heats, may your peace reign in the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of The Sacred Heart
Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, what ineffable power thy divine Son hath given thee over His own adorable Heart. Full of trust in thy merits, we come before thee and beg thy protection. O heavenly Treasurer of the Heart of Jesus, that Heart which is the inexhaustible source of all graces, which thou mayest open to us at thy good pleasure, in order that from it may flow forth upon mankind the riches of love and mercy, light and salvation, that are contained therein; grant unto us, we beseech thee, the favors which we seek. . . . We can never, never be refused by thee, and since thou art our Mother, O our Lady of the Sacred Heart, graciously hear our prayers and grant our request. Amen.
Prayer for the Immaculate Queen of Peace
Most holy and immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother, being his Mother, you shared in his universal kingship. The prophets and angels proclaimed him King of peace. With loving fervor in our hearts we salute and honor you as Queen of peace.
We pray that your intercession may protect us and all people from hated and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified. We ask your maternal care for our Holy Father who works to reconcile the nations in peace. We seek your guidance for our President and other leaders as they strive for world peace.
Glorious Queen of peace, grant us peace in our hearts, harmony in our families and concord throughout the world. Immaculate Mother, as patroness of our beloved country, watch over us and protect us with your motherly love. Amen.
Prayer of the Immaculate Conception
O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, didst prepare a worthy dwelling place for thy Son, we beseech thee that, as by the foreseen death of this, thy Son, thou didst preserve her from all stain, so too thou wouldst permit us, purified through her intercession, to come unto thee. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who livest and reignest with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
Prayer to Immaculate Mary
Give me the grace to annihilate my will before the Will of Your Divine Son so that the Will of Your Divine Son be mine. Kindle my heart with Divine Love! See to it that the purest flame of God's Love penetrate deeply in my spirit and rout out my selfishness. Give me a tender devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and Your holy Love in order that I love You as You deserve. Help me detach perfectly from everything, creatures, and myself, renouncing myself and everything to live only in God. My tender Mother, obtain for me a deep humility from God, internal and external humility, a deep knowledge of myself, and a spirit of mortification so that I humble myself before God and creatures. Help me to have contempt and humiliations loved, but myself despised. Mirror of humility grant me the virtue of humility and obedience. Grant me the virtue of meekness and sweetness so that I treat people with kindness, especially when I meet the ones against whom I feel repugnance. Give me a simple, merry, sweet, gentle, kind, benign, compassionate, humble and meek heart. Impetrate for me a profound contrition and intimate sorrow to make my heart bleed for my offenses against Your Divine Son. Grant me a spirit of holy prayer, the grace of meditating upon the sublime truths of faith, especially the Passion of Jesus and Your sorrows. Give me the grace of praying in the occasions of sin. Grant me a holy recollection, the grace of being aware of Your holy presence, and the virtue of silence. Grant me from God the holy virtue of spiritual and bodily purity; as well as purity of conscience through humble, frequent, and sincere confession, for the greater glory of God. Obtain for me a heroic faith along with a loving, filial confidence in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and in Your Motherly affection. Grant me fervent zeal for the glory of God and the salvation of souls, letting me perform the duties of my priestly ministry perfectly. See to it that I celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and recite the Holy Canonical Hours with deep recollection and intimate devotion. My tender Mother, give me the virtue of fortitude to prevail over myself through internal and external mortification. O valiant Lady, you have conquered hell. Give me strength to triumph over the devil, the world, and the flesh. You are our life and hope, please grant me holy, final perseverance in the grace of Your Divine Son. See to it that I live and die saintly, and love You in Paradise forever.
Blessed Father Annibale Di Francia

Prayer to Mary Queen of Apostles
Immaculate Mother of God, Queen of the Apostles, we know that God's commandment of love and our vocation to follow Jesus Christ impels us to cooperate in the mission of the Church. Realizing our own weakness, we entrust the renewal of our personal lives and our apostolate to your intercession. We are confident that through God's mercy and the infinite merits of Jesus Christ, you, who are our Mother, will obtain the strength of the Holy Spirit as you obtained it for the community of the apostles gathered in the upper room. Therefore, relying on your maternal intercession, we resolve from this moment to devote our talents, learning, material resources, our health, sickness and trials, and every gift of nature and grace, for the greater glory of God and the salvation of all. We wish to carry on those activities which especially promote the catholic apostolate for the revival of fatih and love of the people of God and so bring all men and women into the faith of Jesus Christ. And if a time should come when we have nothing more to offer serviceable to this end, we will never cease to pray that there will be one fold and one shepherd Jesus Christ. In this way, we hope to enjoy the results of the apostolate of Jesus Christ for all eternity. Amen.
Saint Vincent Pallotti
Prayer to Mary, Mother of Grace
It becomes you to be mindful of us, as you stand near him who granted you all graces, for you are the Mother of God and our Queen. Help us for the sake of the King, the Lord God and Master who was born of you. For this reason, you are called full of grace. Remember us, most holy Virgin, and bestow on us gifts from the riches of your graces, Virgin full of graces.
St Athanasius, Bishop and Doctor
Prayer to Mary, Queen of Heaven
Queen of heaven, rejoice. Alleluia. The Son whom you were privileged to bear, Alleluia, has risen as he said, Alleluia. Pray to God for us, Alleluia. Rejoice and be glad, Virgin Mary, Alleluia. For the Lord has truly risen, Alleluia.
O God, it was by the Resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that you brought joy to the world. Grant that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may attain the joy of eternal life. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER TO OUR LADY
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in your mercy hear us and answer us. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady Immaculate
Most holy Virgin, who was pleasing to the Lord and became His Mother, immaculate in body and spirit, in faith and in love, look kindly on the wretched who implore thy powerful patronage. The wicked serpent, against whom was hurled the first curse, continues fiercely to attack and ensnare the unhappy children of Eve. Do thou, then, O Blessed Mother, our queen and advocate, who from the first instant of thy conception didst crush the head of the enemy, receive the prayers which, united with thee in our single heart, we implore thee to present at the throne of God, that we may never fall into the snares which are laid out for us, and may all arrive at the port of salvation; and, in so many dangers, may the Church and Christian society sing once again the hymn of deliverance and of victory and of peace. Amen.
In Thy conception, O Virgin Mary, thou was immaculate; pray for us to the Father, Whose Son, Jesus Christ conceived of the Holy Ghost, thou didst bring forth.
Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes
Oh ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Health of the Sick, Refuge of Sinners, Comfortess of the Afflicted, you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings. Look upon me with mercy. When you appeared in the grotto of Lourdes, you made it a privileged sanctuary where you dispense your favors, and where many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal. I come, therefore, with unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. My loving Mother, obtain my request. I will try to imitate your virtues so that I may one day share your company and bless you in eternity. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Behold, O Mother of Perpetual Help, at thy feet a wretched sinner, who has recourse to thee and trusts in thee. O Mother of mercy, have pity on me; I hear all men call thee the refuge and hope of sinners: be therefore my refuge and my hope. Help me for the love of Jesus Christ: hold out thy hand to a fallen wretch, who commends himself to thee and dedicates himself to be thy servant forever. I praise and thank God, who of His great mercy hath given me this confidence in thee, a sure pledge of my eternal salvation. Alas, it is only too true that in the past I have fallen miserably, because I did not come to thee. I know that with thy help I shall conquer; I know that thou wilt help me, if I commend myself to thee; but I am fearful lest in the occasions of sin I shall forget to call upon thee and so I shall be lost. This grace, then, do I ask of thee; for this I implore thee, as much as I can and know how to do; namely, that in the assaults of hell I may ever run to thy protection and may say to thee: Mary, help me; Mother of Perpetual Help, permit me not to lose my God.
Hail Mary
O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant me ever to be able to call upon thy powerful name, since thy name is the help of the living and the salvation of the dying. Ah, Mary most pure, Mary most sweet, grant that thy name from this day forth may be to me the very breath of life. Dear Lady, delay not to come to my assistance whenever I call upon thee; for in all the temptations that assail me, in all the necessities that befall me, I will never leave off calling upon thee, ever repeating: Mary, Mary. What comfort, what sweetness, what confidence, what tenderness fills my soul at the sound of thy name, at the very thought of thee! I give thanks to our Lord, who for my sake hath given thee a name so sweet, so lovable, so mighty. But I am not content merely to speak thy name; I would utter it for very love of thee; it is my desire that love should ever remind me to name thee, Mother of Perpetual Help.
Hail Mary
O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of every grace that God grants us in our misery; it is for this cause that He hath made thee so powerful, so rich, so kind, that thou mightest assist us in our miseries. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners, if they but come unto thee; come once more to my assistance, for I commend myself to thee. In thy hands I place my eternal salvation; to thee I entrust my soul. Enroll me among thy most faithful servants; take me under thy protection and it is enough for me: yes, for if thou protect me, I shall fear nothing; not my sins, for thou wilt obtain for me their pardon and remission; not the evil spirits, for thou art mightier than all the powers of hell; not even Jesus, my Judge, for He is appeased by a single prayer from thee. I fear only that through my own negligence I may forget to recommend myself to thee and so I shall be lost. My dear Lady, obtain for me the forgiveness of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance and the grace to have recourse to thee at all times, O Mother of Perpetual Help.
Hail Mary
Prayer to Our Lady, Assumed into Heaven
Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, we believe in your triumphant assumption into heaven where the angels and saints acclaim you as Queen. We join them in praising you and bless the Lord who raised you above all creatures. With them we offer you our devotion and love. We are confident that you watch over our daily efforts and needs, and we take comfort from the faith in the coming resurrection. We look to you, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. After this earthly life, show us Jesus, the blest fruit of your womb, O kind, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.
Prayer to Our Lady, Health of the Sick
Virgin, most holy, Mother of the Word Incarnate, Treasurer of graces, and Refuge of sinners, I fly top your motherly affection with lively faith, and I beg of you the grace ever to do the will of God.
Into your most holy hands I commit the keeping of my heart, asking you for health of soul and body, in the certain hope that you, my most loving Mother, will hear my prayer.
Into the bosom of your tender mercy, this day, every day of my life, and at the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body.
To you I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries, my life and the end of my life, that all my actions may be ordered and disposed according to your will and that of your Divine Son. Amen.

Prayer To Our Lady, Help Of Christians
Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christian,
how sweet it is to come to your feet
imploring your perpetual help.
If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children,
how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me?
Grant then to me, I implore you,
your perpetual help in all my necessities,
in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations.
I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering.
Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners.
Grant through your intercessions many vocations to the religious life.
Obtain for us, O Mary, Help of Christians,
that having invoked you on earth we may love and eternally thank you in heaven.
By St. John Bosco
Prayer to Our Lady, Mother of Mercy
Blessed Virgin Mary, who can worthily repay you with praise and thanks for having rescued a fallen world by your generous consent! Receive our gratitude, and by your prayers obtain the pardon of our sins. Take our prayers into the sanctuary of heaven and enable them to make our peace with God.
Holy Mary, help the miserable, strengthen the discouraged, comfort the sorrowful, pray for your people, plead for the clergy, intercede for all women consecrated to God. May all who venerate you feel now your help and protection. Be ready to help us when we pray, and bring back to us the answers to our prayers. Make it your continual concern to pray for the people of God, foryou were blessed by God and were made worthy to bear the Redeemer of the world, who lives and reigns forever. Amen.
Saint Augustine of Hippo
Prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help
Mother of Perpetual Help, today we face so many difficulties. Your picture tells us so much about you. It reminds us to reach out and help those in need. Help us understand that our lives belong to others as much as they belong to us.
Mary, Model of Christian love, we know we cannot heal every ill or solve every problem. But with God's grace, we intend to do what we can. May we be true witnesses to the world that love for one another really matters. May our daily actions proclaim how fully our lives are modeled after yours, Mother of Perpetual Help.
OR
Mother of Perpetual Help, you have been blessed and favored by God. you became not only the Mother of the Redeemer, but Mother of the redeemed as well. We come to you today as your loving children. Watch over us and take care of us. As you held the child Jesus in your loving arms, so take us in your arms. Be a mother ready at every moment to help us. For God who is mighty has done great things for you, and God's mercy is from age to age on those who love God. Intercede for us, dear Mother, in obtaining pardon for our sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace always to call upon you, Mother of Perpetual Help.
OR
Oh Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke your powerful name, the protection of the living and the salvation of the dying. Purest Mary, let your name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, Blessed Lady, to rescue me whenever I call on you. In my temptations, in my needs, I will never cease to call on you, ever repeating your sacred name, Mary, Mary. What a consolation, what sweetness, what confidence fills my soul when I utter your sacred name or even only think of your! I thank the Lord for having given you so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering your name. Let my love for your prompt me ever to hail you Mother of Perpetual Help.
Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me and grant me the favor I confidently ask of you. {mention your petition}
Prayer to the Mother of the Lord for all mothers
Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your “Yes” to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God’s word and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Dear mother, intercede for all of our mothers. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own “Fiat.” May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love- the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son.
On this Mothers day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us who have recourse to you…
In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Sorrowful Mother for the Church and the Pontiff
Most Holy Virgin and Mother, your soul was pierced by a sword of sorrow in the passion of your divine Son, and in His glorious resurrection, you were filled with unending joy in His triumph! Obtain for us who call upon you, to be such partakers in the adversities of holy Church and in the sorrows of the Sovereign Pontiff as to be found worthy to rejoice with thme in the consolations for which we pray, in the charity and peace of the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
St. Louis De Montfort's Prayer to Mary
Hail Mary, beloved Daughter of the Eternal Father! Hail Mary, admirable Mother of the Son! Hail Mary, faithful spouse of the Holy Ghost! Hail Mary, my dear Mother, my loving Mistress, my powerful sovereign! Hail my joy, my glory, my heart and my soul! Thou art all mine by mercy, and I am all thine by justice. But I am not yet sufficiently thine. I now give myself wholly to thee without keeping anything back for myself or others. If thou still seest in me anything which does not belong to thee, I beseech thee to take it and to make thyself the absolute Mistress of all that is mine. Destroy in me all that may he displeasing to God, root it up and bring it to nought; place and cultivate in me everything that is pleasing to thee.
May the light of thy faith dispel the darkness of my mind; may thy profound humility take the place of my pride; may thy sublime contemplation check the distractions of my wandering imagination; may thy continuous sight of God fill my memory with His presence; may the burning love of thy heart inflame the lukewarmness of mine; may thy virtues take the place of my sins; may thy merits be my only adornment in the sight of God and make up for all that is wanting in me. Finally, dearly beloved Mother, grant, if it be possible, that I may have no other spirit but thine to know Jesus and His divine will; that I may have no other soul but thine to praise and glorify the Lord; that I may have no other heart but thine to love God with a love as pure and ardent as think I do not ask thee for visions, revelations, sensible devotion or spiritual pleasures. It is thy privilege to see God clearly; it is thy privilege to enjoy heavenly bliss; it is thy privilege to triumph gloriously in Heaven at the right hand of thy Son and to hold absolute sway over angels, men and demons; it is thy privilege to dispose of all the gifts of God, just as thou willest.
Such is, O heavenly Mary, the "best part," which the Lord has given thee and which shall never be taken away from thee--and this thought fills my heart with joy. As for my part here below, I wish for no other than that which was thine: to believe sincerely without spiritual pleasures; to suffer joyfully without human consolation; to die continually to myself without respite; and to work zealously and unselfishly for thee until death as the humblest of thy servants. The only grace I beg thee to obtain for me is that every day and every moment of my life I may say: Amen, So be it--to all that thou didst do while on earth; Amen, so be it--to all that thou art now doing in Heaven; Amen, so be it--to all that thou art doing in my soul, so that thou alone mayest fully glorify Jesus in me for time and eternity. Amen.
Stabat Mater Dolorosa
At the Cross Her station keeping
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.
Through Her Heart, His sorrow sharing,
All His bitter anguish bearing,
Lo! the piercing sword had passed.
O how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother, highly blessed,
Of the Sole-Begotten One.
Mournful, with Heart's prostration,
Mother meek, the bitter Passion
Saw She of Her glorious Son.
Who on Christ's dear Mother gazing,
In Her trouble so amazing,
Born of woman, would not weep?
Who on Christ's dear Mother thinking,
Such a cup of sorrow drinking,
Would not share Her sorrow deep?
For His people's sins rejected,
Saw Her Jesus unprotected.
Saw with thorns, with scourges rent.
Saw Her Son from judgement taken,
Her Beloved in death forsaken,
Till His Spirit forth He sent.
Fount of love and holy sorrow,
Mother, may my spirit borrow
Somewhat of Your woe profound.
Unto Christ with pure emotion,
Raise my contrite heart's devotion,
To read love in every wound.
Those Five Wounds on Jesus smitten,
Mother! in my heart be written,
Deep as in Your own they be.
You, Your Savior's Cross did bare,
You, Your Son's rebuke did share.
Let me share them both with Thee.
In the Passion of my Maker,
Be my sinful soul partaker,
Weep 'til death and weep with You.
Mine with You be that sad station,
There to watch the great salvation,
Wrought upon the atoning Tree.
Virgin, you of virgins fairest,
May the bitter woe Thou bearest
Make on me impression deep.
Thus Christ's dying may I carry,
With Him in His Passion tarry,
And His Wounds in memory keep.
May His Wound both wound and heal me,
He enkindle, cleanse, strengthen me,
By His Cross my hope and stay.
May He, when the mountains quiver,
From that flame which burns forever,
Shield me on the Judgement Day.
Jesus, may Your Cross defend me,
And Your Mother's prayer befriend me;
Let me die in Your embrace.
When to dust my dust returns,
Grant a soul, that to You yearns,
In Your paradise a place. Amen.
THE ANGELUS
V- The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R- And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
(Hail Mary....)
V- Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R- Be it done unto me according to thy word.
(Hail Mary....)
V- And the Word was made Flesh.
R- And dwelt among us.
(Hail Mary....)
V- Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
THE SALVE REGINA (Hail Holy Queen)
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
V- Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God
R- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
To Our Blessed Mother
We fly to your protection, most holy Mother of God; please listen to our petitions and needs, and deliver us from all dangers, ever glorious and blessed Virgin Mary.
Mary, our model and mother, by your obedience and patience you have taught us how to be true children of God. Please help us by your powerful assistance to overcome all our weaknesses, and to fulfill perfectly our tasks in life.
By your compassionate aid may we ever stand in spirit with you beneath the cross of Christ so that we may also rejoice with you in your divine Son's triumphant victory over sin and death.
In your maternal kindness help us to be faithful to prayers in the company of God's Church as you were one with the Apostles in the upper room as you waited for the promised Spirit of Pentecost.
With your gracious assistance may we be near you in the glory of Christ's kingdom come to sing with you and all the faithful the eternal praise of God. Amen.
V. O Mary, conceived without sin,
R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.
You are all fair, O Virgin Mary,
You never knew the stain of sin;
You are the glory of Jerusalem,
You, the joy of Israel,
You, the great honor of our people,
You, the advocate of sinners.
O Mary, Virgin most prudent,
O Mary, Mother most merciful,
Pray for us,
Intercede for us with our Lord,
Jesus Christ.
We Fly to Thy Patronage
In every engagement with the infernal powers, we shall always certainly conquer by having recourse to the Mother of God, Who is also our Mother, saying and repeating again and again: "We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God: we fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God." Oh how many victories have not the faithful gained over hell, by having recourse to Mary with this short but most powerful prayer! Thus is was that the great servant of god, Sister Mary Crucified, of the Order of St. Benedict, always overcame the devils.
St. Alphonsus Liguori in Hail Holy Queen!
PRAYER TO THE SAINTS
Prayer to St. Catherine
St. Catherine,
Most blessed and favored patron saint,
Thou who sought the truth with perseverance,
loved the truth in humility,
taught the truth in charity,
and defended the truth with courage,
pray for us.
Obtain for us the grace to persevere in truth,
to be a light in the darkness of the times
in which we live,
and to convey to others,
both in our written words and in our actions,
the responsibility, wisdom, and knowledge
to proclaim the truths of our holy Faith
as proclaimed by the Church.
O holy virgin and bride of Christ,
whose letters inspired, guided, and led the Church
to renewal and transformation,
obtain too for us the grace to live the truth,
the patience to endure the trials and hardships,
to carry our Cross in the spirit of prayer and self denial,
and to defend the Church in its hour of crucifixion.
We ask these in Christ's name, Amen.
Prayer to St. Joseph
O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong,
so prompt before the Throne of God,
I place in you all my interests and desires.
O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession
and obtain for me from your Divine Son
all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord; so that having engaged here below
your Heavenly power I may offer my
Thanksgiving and Homage to the most
Loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph,
I never weary contemplating you and Jesus
asleep in your arms.
I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.
Press him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me,
and ask Him to return the Kiss when
I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph,
Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen

This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In 1500's it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle.
Whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it, will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on them. They will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will they be defeated in battle.
Make this prayer known everywhere.

Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle;
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke Him, we humbly pray, and do Thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God,
cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits,
who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
(This powerful prayer of exorcism was composed by Pope Leo XIII; in a vision, he had been shown the fearful battle to be waged between Satan and St. Michael, over the Church of the future. Now, as never before, the Church needs the intercession of St. Michael! Please say this prayer every day.)

Hymn to Saint Rita of Cascia
I.
Come, virgins chaste; pure brides, draw near:
Let Earth exult and Heaven hear
The Hymn that grateful accents raise,
Our song of joy in Rita's praise.
II.
By fast her sinless frame is weak;
Her livid flesh the scourges streak.
In pity for her Savior's woes,
Her days and even nights are closed.
III.
The thorn-wound on her brow is shown,
The crimson rose in winter blown,
And full-ripe figs on frozen tree
At Rita's wish the wonders see.
IV.
The widowed spouse and wedded wife
The way to heaven see in her life;
The way secure our Rita trod,
In life's dim day, through paint o God.
V.
Praise to the Father and the Son,
Praise to the Spirit, Three in One;
O grant us grace in heaven to reign
Through Rita's prayer and life-long pain.
V.
Thou hast signed thy servant Rita
A. With the sign of thy Love and Passion.
Let us Pray.
O God! who didst deign to confer on St. Rita for imitating
Thee in love of her enemies, the favor of bearing her heart
and brow the marks of Thy Love and Passion,
grant we beseech Thee, that through her intercession
and merit, we may, pierced by the thorns of compunction, e
ver contemplate the sufferings of Thy Passion,
who livest and reignest forever and ever.
Amen.
This hymn is the translation of the hymn of Lauds, office of St. Rita, approved by Decree of S.C.R. Nov. 24, 1900.

V- And Lead Us Not Into Temptation.
R- But Deliver Us From Evil.
Psalm LXIX
Incline unto my aid, O God.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek my soul.
Let them be turned backward and blush for shame that desire evils to me.
Let them be presently turned away blushing for shame that say to me, "Tis well, 'tis well."
Let all that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee; and let such as love Thy salvation say always, The Lord be magnified. But I am needy and poor: O God, help me.
Thou art my helper and my deliverer; O Lord, make no delay.
Glory Be To The Father, etc.
V- Save Thy servants.
R- Trusting in Thee, O my God.
V- Be unto us, O Lord, a tower a strength.
R- From the face of the enemy.
V- Let not the enemy prevail against us.
R- Nor the son of iniquity have power to hurt us.
V- O Lord, do not deal with us according to our sins.
R- Neither reward us according to our iniquities.
V- Let us pray for our chief bishop: (name)
R- The Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.
V- Let us pray for our benefactors.
R- Vouchsafe, O Lord, for Thy name's sake, to reward with eternal life all those who do us good.
V- Let us pray for the faithful departed.
R- Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
V- May they rest in peace.
R- Amen.
V- For our absent brethren.
R- Save Thy servants who hope in Thee, O my God.
V- Send them help, O Lord, from Thy holy place.
R- And from Sion protect them.
V- O Lord, hear my prayer.
R- And let my cry come unto Thee.
LET US PRAY:
O God, Whose property is always to have mercy and to spare,
receive our petition, that we and all Thy servants who
are bound by the chain of sin, may,
by the compassion of Thy goodness, mercifully be absolved.
Hear, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the prayers of Thy supplicants,
and pardon the sins of those who confess to Thee, that, in
Thy bounty, Thou mayest grant us both pardon and peace.
In Thy clemency, O Lord, show Thy unspeakable mercy to us,
that so Thou mayest both loose us from all our sins and
deliver us from the punishments which we deserve for them.
O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified,
mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people,
who make supplication to Thee, and turn away the scourges of
Thine anger, which we deserve for our sins.
O almighty and eternal God, have mercy on Thy servant (N).,
our chief bishop, and direct him according to Thy clemency,
in the way of everlasting salvation, that, by Thy grace,
he may desire the things that are pleasing to Thee,
and perform them with all his strength.
O God, from Whom are all holy desires, righteous counsels,
and just works, give to Thy servants that peace
which the world cannot give; that, our hearts being disposed to keep
Thy commandments, and the fear of enemies taken away,
the times, by Thy protection, may be peaceful.
Inflame, O Lord, our reins and hearts with the fire of the Holy Spirit;
that we may serve Thee with a chaste body,
and please Thee with a clean heart.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
give to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins,
that through pious supplications they may obtain the
pardon they have always desired.
Direct, we beseech Thee, O Lord, our actions by Thy holy inspirations,
and carry them on by Thy gracious assistance;
that every prayer and work of ours may always begin from Thee,
and through Thee be happily ended.
O almighty and eternal God, Who hast dominion over the
living and the dead, and art merciful to all who
Thou foreknowest will be Thine by faith and good works:
we humbly beseech Thee that they for whom we have
purposed to offer our prayers, whether this present world
still detains them in the flesh or the next world
hath already received them divested of their bodies,
may, by the intercession of Thy saints and the clemency of
Thy goodness, obtain pardon and full remission of all their sins.
Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son,
Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the
Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
R- Amen.
V- O Lord, hear my prayer.
R- And let my cry come unto Thee.
V- May the almighty and merciful Lord graciously hear us.
R- Amen.
V- And my the souls of the faithful departed thought the mercy of God, rest in peace.
R- Amen.
Lorica of Saint Patrick
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In preachings of the apostles,
In faiths of confessors,
In innocence of virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's hosts to save me
From snares of the devil,
From temptations of vices,
From every one who desires me ill,
Afar and near,
Alone or in a multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and evil,
Against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of women and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that reward may come to me in abundance.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation
St. Patrick (ca. 377)
Prayer about St. Patrick
God our Father,
you sent Saint Patrick to preach your glory to the people of Ireland.
By the help of his prayers,
may all Christians proclaim your love to all men.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi before the Blessed Sacrament
We adore You, O Lord Jesus Christ, in this Church and all the Churches of the world, and we bless You, because, by Your holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Prayer to Blessed Josemaria Escriva
O God, you granted countless graces to Blessed Josemaria your priest,
choosing him as a most faithful instrument to found Opus Dei,
a way of sanctification through daily work and the fulfillment of the
ordinary duties of a Christian. Grant that I also may learn to turn
all the circumstances and events of my life into occasions of
loving you and of serving the Church, the Pope, and all souls,
with joy and simplicity, lighting up the ways of the earth with
brightness of faith and love. Deign to grant the canonization of
Blessed Josemaria and through his intercession, grant me the
favour I ask of you (here make your petition.) Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father.
Those who obtain favours through the intercession of
Blessed Josemaria are asked to notify the
Office of the Vice-Postulation of Opus Dei in Canada,

Prayer to Saint John Bosco
O glorious Saint John Bosco, who in order to lead young
people to the feet of the divine Master and to mould
them in the light of faith and Christian morality didst
heroically sacrifice thyself to the very end of thy life
and didst set up a proper religious Institute destined to
endure and to bring to the farthest boundaries of the
earth thy glorious work, obtain also for us from
Our Lord a holy love for young people who are
exposed to so many seductions in order that we may
generously spend ourselves in supporting them
against the snares of the devil, in keeping them safe from the
dangers of the world, and in guiding them,
pure and holy, in the path that leads to God. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Charity
You are celebrated St. Dymphna, for your goodness to others.
Both in your lifetime, and even more in the ages since,
you have again and again demonstrated your concern
for those who are mentally disturbed or emotionally troubled.
Kindly secure for me, then, some measure of your own serene love,
and ask our Lord to give us a share in His life
and boundless charity. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Chastity
Most pure virgin, St. Dymphna, we live at a time
when many are intent on satisfying every carnal appetite.
Your single-minded dedication to Christ alone is providential and inspiring.
Please help us by your power with God to see life in proportion as you did.
With your aid we propose to perform all our actions for a pure motive,
and promptly to resist all our evil inclinations. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Faith
Dear St. Dymphna, you gave us an example in your own life of firm faith.
Neither flattery, earthly rewards nor the threat of death
caused you to waver in your fidelity to God. Please help us then,
amid the uncertainties of life, to imitate your wholehearted
dedication to Christ. Be good enough to come
to our aid in our need, and pray for us to God. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Fortitude
Courageous St. Dymphna, your strength was from God.
His grace enabled you to resist evil, and to prefer exile to a life of sinful luxury.
Christ's own power preserved you faithful to Him in life and in death.
In your kindness help us to imitate your example in little things,
and gain for us fortitude to bear with the misfortunes we meet,
and strength to overcome our weakness. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Hope
Good St. Dymphna, you placed all your hope in Christ's promises,
and sacrificed even your life in that hope.
\The Lord, God, rewarded your constancy by making
your name known and loved over many centuries by the
thousands whom you have aided in time of difficulty.
Please assist us now in our present necessity,
and intercede before God for our intentions.
Obtain for us a firm hope like your own in
God's unfailing protection. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Justice
Admirable St. Dymphna, how just you were to all
whom you encountered, and how careful you were to
give every person his due, and more than he might desire or expect.
By your power with God please come
to assist us to be just to all we meet,
and even to be generous in giving everyone
more than strict justice requires. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Perseverance
Most faithful St. Dymphna, you remained true to your
baptismal promises to the very end.
You are, therefore, honored, known,
and loved after 1,400 years by people you
have aided all over the world.
We do not know how long or short a time is left to us of this life here,
but help us in any case to be faithful to God to the end.
Please gain for us the grace to live one
day at a time as if each were to be our last. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Prudence
You were marked in life, St. Dymphna, by a high degree of prudence.
You sought and followed the advice of your confessor and spiritual guide.
You fled from temptation even when it meant exile and poverty.
In your last extremity you chose to die rather than offend God.
Please help us now by your merits not only to know what is right,
but procure for us also the strength to do it. Amen.
Prayer to St. Dymphna - Temperance
Generous St. Dymphna, like all Christ's martyrs you gained
this crowning grace because you prepared for it by a life of self denial.
By faithfulness in smaller things you were ready for your final trial.
Please teach us by your example and help to use the
good things of life so that we may not miss our chance for life eternal.
Help us, too, to watch and pray for ourselves and others. Amen.
Prayer to St. Martin de Porres
To you Saint Martin de Porres we prayerfully lift up
our hearts filled with serene confidence and devotion.
Mindful of your unbounded and helpful charity to
all levels of society and also of your meekness and humility of heart,
we offer our petitions to you.
Pour out upon our families the precious gifts of your
solicitous and generous intercession;
show to the people of every race and every
color the paths of unity and of justice;
implore from our Father in heaven the coming of his kingdom,
so that through mu tual benevolence in
God men may increase the fruits of grace
and merit the rewards of eternal life. Amen.
Prayers and Passages of St. Alphonsus De Liguori
He who prays is certain to be saved;
while he who prays not is certain to be damned.
All the saints were saved, and came to be saints by praying;
all the accursed souls in hell were lost through neglect of prayer;
if they had prayed, it is certain that they would not have been lost.
And this will be one of the greatest occasions of their anguish in hell,
the thought that they might have saved themselves so easily;
that they had only to beg God to help them,
but that now the time is past when this could avail them
(from The Necessity of Prayer).
Saint Anthony of Padua
Holy Saint Anthony, gentle and powerful in your help,
your love for God and charity for His creatures,
made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles waited on your word, which you were always ready
to request for those in trouble or anxiety.
Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request).
The answer to my prayer may require a miracle.
Even so, you are the Saint of miracles.
Gentle and loving Saint Anthony,
whose heart is ever full of human sympathy,
take my petition to the Infant Savior for
whom you have such a great love,
and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.
Saint Anthony, Consoler of the Afflicted
Dear St. Anthony, comforting the sorrowful is a
Christian duty and a work of mercy. By word, attitude,
and deed I should try to brighten their days
and make their burden easier to bear.
St. Anthony, Consoler of the Afflicted,
may I remember when helping someone in sorrow that
I am helping Christ Himself. Kindly mention my pressing needs to Him.
(Name you special intentions).
Saint Anthony, Disperser of Devils
Dear St. Anthony, it is still as St. Peter said:
The devil prowls about, lion-like, looking for someone to devour.
I confess that I don't always resist him;
I sometimes toy with temptation. St. Anthony,
Disperser of Devils, remind me of my duty to avoid all occasions of sin.
May I always pray in temptation that I may remain loyal to my Lord Jesus.
Pray for my other intentions, please. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Example of Humility
Dear St. Anthony, after all these years in the school of Christ,
I still haven't learned the lesson of true humility.
My feelings are easily ruffled. Quick to take offense,
I am slow to forgive. St. Anthony, Example of Humility,
teach me the importance and necessity of this Christian virtue.
In the presence of Jesus, who humbled Himself
and whom the Father exalted,
remember also these special intentions of mine. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Generator of Charity
Dear St. Anthony, God wants us to see Christ,
our brother, in everyone and love Him truly in word and in deed.
God wills that we share with others the joy of His boundless love.
St. Anthony, Generator of Charity, remember me in the Father's presence,
that I may be generous in sharing the joy of His love.
Remember also the special intentions I now entrust to you. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Guide of Pilgrims
Dear St. Anthony, we are all pilgrims.
We came from God and we are going to Him.
He who created us will welcome us at journey's end.
The Lord Jesus is preparing a place for all His brothers and sisters.
St. Anthony, Guide of Pilgrims, direct my steps in the straight path.
Protect me until I am safely home in heaven.
Help me in all my needs and difficulties. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Liberator of Prisoners
Dear St. Anthony, I am imprisoned by walls of selfishness,
prejudice, suspicion. I am enslaved by human respect
and the fear of other people's opinions of me.
St. Anthony, Liberator of Prisoners, tear down my prison walls.
Break the chains that hold me captive.
Make me free with the freedom Christ has won for me.
To your powerful intercession I also recommend these intentions. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Martyr of Desire
Dear St. Anthony, you became a Franciscan with the
hope of shedding your blood for Christ.
In God's plan for you, your thirst for martyrdom was never to be satisfied.
St. Anthony, Martyr of Desire, pray that
I may become less afraid to stand up
and be counted as a follower of the Lord Jesus.
Intercede also for my other intentions. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Model of Perfection
Dear St. Anthony, you took the words of Jesus seriously,
"Be perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect."
The Church honors you as a Christian hero,
a man wholly dedicated to God's glory
and the good of the redeemed. St. Anthony,
Model of Perfection, ask Jesus to strengthen my
good dispositions and to make me more like you,
more like Him.
Obtain for me the other favors I need. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Performer of Miracles
Dear St. Anthony, your prayers obtained miracles during your lifetime.
You still seem to move at ease in the realm of minor and major miracles.
St. Anthony, Performer of Miracles,
please obtain for me the blessings
God holds in reserve who serve Him.
Pray that I may be worthy of the promises my
Lord Jesus attaches to confident prayer.
(Mention your special intentions.)
Saint Anthony, Restorer of Sight to the Blind
Dear St. Anthony, you recall the Gospel episode
about the blind man who, partly healed,
could see men "looking like walking trees."
After a second laying-on of Jesus's hands,
he could see perfectly.
St. Anthony, Restorer of Sight to the Blind,
please sharpen my spiritual vision.
May I see people, not as trees or numbers,
but as sons and daughters of the Most High.
Help me in my pressing needs. (Name your special intentions.)
Saint Anthony, Restorer of Speech to the Mute
Dear St. Anthony, how tongue-tied I can be when
I should be praising God and defending the oppressed.
My cowardice often strikes me dumb; I am afraid to open my mouth.
St. Anthony, Restorer of Speech to the Mute, release me from my fears.
Teach me to praise God and to champion the
rights of those unjustly treated.
Please remember also all my intentions. (Name them.)
Saint Anthony, Zealous for Justice
Dear St. Anthony, you were prompt to fulfill all justice.
You gave God and His creation the service He required from you.
You respected other people's rights and treated
them with kindness and understanding.
St. Anthony, Zealous for Justice, teach me the beauty of this virtue.
Make me prompt to fulfill all justice toward God
and toward all creation.
Help me also in my pressing needs. (Name them.)
Saint Dymphna
Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as
patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders.
She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of
charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.
Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr,
relief and consolation to all suffering such trials,
and especially those for whom we pray.
(Here mention those for whom you wish to pray).
We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf.
Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings
and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope,
and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire.
We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.
Saint Jude
Most holy Apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the name of the traitor who delivered the beloved
Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you
to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors
and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases,
of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable;
make use, I implore you, of this particular privilege accorded to you,
to bring visible and speedy help, where help is almost despaired of.
Come to my assistance in this great need,
that I may receive the consolations and succor of
Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings,
particularly (here make your request),
and that I may bless God with you and all the elect forever.
I promise you, O blessed St. Jude,
to be ever mindful of this great favor,
and I will never cease to honor you as my special
and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.
OR
St. Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many,
but the true Church invokes you universally as the
Patron of things despaired of; pray for me,
that finally I may receive the consolations
and the succor of Heaven in all my necessities,
tribulations, and sufferings, particularly
(here make your request),
and that I may bless God with the
Elect throughout Eternity. Amen.
Saint Romuald, Abbot
Father, through Saint Romuald you renewed the
life of solitude and prayer in your Church.
By our self-denial as we follow Christ bring us the joy of heaven.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
St. Alphonsus De Liguori to Jesus Christ, to Obtain His Holy Love
My crucified Love, my dear Jesus! I believe in Thee,
and confess Thee to be the true Son of God and my Saviour.
I adore Thee from the abyss of my own nothingness,
and I thank Thee for the death Thou didst suffer for me,
that I might obtain the life of divine grace.
My beloved Redeemer, to Thee I owe all my salvation.
Through Thee I have hitherto escaped hell;
through Thee have I received the pardon of my sins.
But I am so ungrateful, that, instead of loving Thee,
I have repeated my offenses against Thee.
I deserve to be condemned, so as not to be able to love
Thee any more: but no, my Jesus, punish me in any other way,
but not in this. If I have not loved Thee in times past,
I love Thee now; and I desire nothing but to love Thee with all my heart.
But without Thy help I can do nothing.
Since Thou dost command me to love Thee,
give me also the strength to fulfil this Thy sweet and loving precept.
Thou hast promised to grant all that we ask of Thee:
You shall ask whatever you will and it shall be done unto you.
Confiding, then, in this promise, my dear Jesus,
I ask, first of all, pardon of all my sins;
and I repent, above all things,
because I have offended Thee, O Infinite Goodness!
I ask for holy perseverence in Thy grace till my death.
But, above all, I ask for the gift of Thy holy love.
Ah, my Jesus, my Hope, my Love, my All,
inflame me with that love which
Thou didst come on earth to enkindle!
"Tui amoris me ignem accende."
For this end, make me always live in conformity with Thy holy will.
Enlighten me, that I may understand more
and more how worthy Thou art of our love,
and that I may know the immense love Thou hast borne me,
especially in giving Thy life for me.
Grant, then, that I may love Thee with all my heart,
and may love Thee always, and never cease to beg of
Thee the grace to love Thee in this life; that,
living always and dying in Thy love,
I may come one day to love Thee with all my
strength in heaven, never to leave off loving
Thee for all eternity.
O Mother of beautiful love, my advocate and refuge,
Mary, who art of all creatures the most beautiful,
the most loving, and the most beloved of God,
and whose only desire it is to see him loved!
ah, by the love thou bearest to Jesus Christ,
pray for me, and obtain for me the grace to love him always,
and with all my heart!
This I ask and hope for from thee. Amen.
St. Alphonsus De Liguori's Short Act of Perfect Love
My God, I love Thee above all things, and in all things,
with my whole soul, because Thou art worthy of all love!
St. Blase
O glorious Saint Blase, who by thy martyrdom has left to the
Church a precious witness to the faith,
obtain for us the grace to preserve within ourselves this divine gift,
and to defend, without human respect, both by word and example,
the truth of that same faith, which is so wickedly attacked
and slandered in these our times.
Thou who didst miraculously cure a little child
when it was at the point of death by reason of an
affliction of the throat, grant us thy powerful
protection in like misfortunes; and, above all,
obtain for us the grace of Christian mortification
together with a faithful observance of
the precepts of the Church,
which may keep us from
offending Almighty God. Amen.
St. Francis of Assisi's prayer in praise of God given to Brother Leo
You are holy, Lord, the only God,
and Your deeds are wonderful.
You are strong.
You are great.
You are the Most High.
You are Almighty.
You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.
You are Three and One, Lord God, all Good.
You are Good, all Good, supreme Good, Lord God, living and true.
You are love. You are wisdom.
You are humility. You are endurance.
You are rest. You are peace.
You are joy and gladness.
You are justice and moderation.
You are all our riches, and You suffice for us.
You are beauty.
You are gentleness.
You are our protector.
You are our guardian and defender.
You are our courage. You are our haven and our hope.
You are our faith, our great consolation.
You are our eternal life, Great and Wonderful Lord,
God Almighty, Merciful Saviour.
St. Francis of Assisi's prayer praising Mary the Mother of Jesus
Hail, holy Lady, most holy Queen,
Mary, Mother of God, ever Virgin.
You were chosen by the Most High Father in heaven,
consecrated by Him, with His most
Holy Beloved Son and the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.
On you descended and still remains all the fullness of grace and every good.
Hail, His Palace.
Hail His Tabernacle.
Hail His Robe.
Hail His Handmaid.
Hail, His Mother.
and Hail, all holy Virtues, who,
by grace and inspiration of the Holy Spirit,
are poured into the hearts of the faithful so
that from their faithless state,
they may be made faithful servants of God through you.
St. Francis of Assisi's Vocation Prayer
Most High, Glorious God, enlightens the darkness of our minds.
Give us a right faith, a firm hope and a perfect charity,
so that we may always and in all things act
according to Your Holy Will. Amen.
St. Peter
O glorious Saint Peter, who, in return for thy strong and generous faith,
thy profound and sincere humility, and they burning love,
was rewarded by Jesus Christ with singular privileges,
and, in particular, with the leadership of the other
Apostles and the primacy of the whole Church,
of which thou was made the foundation stone,
do thou obtain for us the grace of a lively faith,
that shall not fear to profess itself openly,
in its entirety and in all of its manifestations,
even to the shedding of blood, if occasion should demand it,
and to sacrifice of life itself rather than surrender.
Obtain for us likewise, a sincere loyalty to our holy mother,
the Church; grant that we may ever remain most closely and sincerely united to the Roman Pontiff, who is the heir of thy faith and of thy authority, the one, true, visible Head of the Catholic Church, that mystic ark outside of which there is no salvation. Grant, moreover, that we may follow, in all humility and meekness, her teaching and her advice, and may be obedient to all her precepts, in order to be able here on earth to enjoy a peace that is sure and undisturbed, and to attain one day in heaven to everlasting happiness. Amen.
V. Pray for us, Saint Peter the Apostle,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
LET US PRAY.
O God, who hast given unto Thy blessed Apostle Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and the power to bind and loose: grant that we may be delivered, through the help of this intercession, from the slavery of all our sins: Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
St. Theresa of the Child Jesus
O wondrous Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus, who, in thy brief earthly life, didst become a mirror of angelic purity, of courageous love and of whole-hearted surrender to Almighty God, now that thou art enjoying the reward of thy virtues, turn thine eyes of mercy upon us who trust in thee. Obtain for us the grace to keep our hearts and minds pure and clean like unto thine, and to detest in all sincerity whatever might tarnish ever so slightly the luster of a virtue so sublime, a virtue that endears us to they heavenly Bridegroom. Ah, dear Saint, grant us to feel in every need the power of thy intercession; give us comfort in all the bitterness of this life and especially at its latter end, that we may be worthy to share eternal happiness with thee in paradise. Amen.
V. Pray for us, O blessed Theresa,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
LET US PRAY
O Lord, who has said: "Unless you become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"; grant us, we beseech Thee, so to walk in the footsteps of thy blessed Virgin Theresa with a humble and single heart, that we may attain to everlasting rewards: Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
The Blessing of St. Francis of Assisi to Brother Leo
The Lord bless you and keep you.
May He show His face to you and have mercy.
May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace.
The Lord bless you!
The Meditation Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
My God and My All!
To Saint Anne
Good St. Anne, you were especially favored by God to be the mother of the most holy Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Savior. By your power with your most pure daughter and with her divine Son, kindly obtain for us the grace and the favor we now seek. Please secure for us also forgiveness of our past sins, the strength to perform faithfully our daily duties and the help we need to persevere in the love of Jesus and Mary. Amen.
Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony
"Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints"
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (request). O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.

Prayers by St. Francis de Sales
Confidence in God
It is good to mistrust ourselves, but how would that advantage us were we not to throw all our confidence on God, and to wait on His mercy? If you feel no such confidence, cease not on that account from making these acts and from saying to Our Lord: "Yet, O Lord, though I have no feeling of confidence in You, nevertheless, I know that You are my God, that I am all Yours, and that I have no hope but in Your goodness; so, I abandon myself entirely into Your Hands." It is always in our power to make these acts; although we have difficulty in performing them, still there is no impossibility. Thus we testify faithfulness to our Lord.
Direction of Intention
My God, I give you this day. I offer you, now, all of the good that I shall do and I promise to accept, for love of you, all of the difficulty that I shall meet. Help me to conduct myself during this day in a manner pleasing to you. Amen.
Your Cross
The everlasting God has in His wisdom foreseen from eternity the cross that He now presents to you as a gift from His inmost heart. This cross He now sends you He has considered with His all-knowing eyes, understood with His divine mind, tested with His wise justice, warmed with loving arms and weighed with His own hands to see that it be not one inch too large and not one ounce too heavy for you. He has blessed it with His holy Name, anointed it with His consolation, taken one last glance at you and your courage, and then sent it to you from heaven, a special greeting from God to you, an alms of the all-merciful love of God.

O Blessed Saint Joseph, faithful guardian and protector of virgins, to whom God entrusted Jesus and Mary, I implore you by the love which you did bear them, to preserve me from every defilement of soul and body, that I may always serve them in holiness and purity of love. Amen.
Prayer to St. Joseph by Pope St. Pius X
Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in the spirit of penance in expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously by placing love of duty above my inclinations; to gratefully and joyously deem it an honor to employ and to develop by labor the gifts I have received from God, to work methodically, peacefully, and in moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from it through weariness or difficulty to work; above all, with purity of intention and unselfishness, having unceasingly before my eyes death and the account I have to render of time lost, talents unused, good not done, and vain complacency in success, so baneful to the work of God. All for Jesus, all for Mary, all to imitate thee, O patriarch St. Joseph! This shall be my motto for life and eternity.
To St. Joseph for Protection
Gracious St. Joseph, protect me and my family from all evil as you did the Holy Family. Kindly keep us ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in imitation of the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you. Amen.
